Federal Government Declares Climate Emergency

The Federal Government last night declared a climate emergency in Canada. The gesture is largely symbolic as it in no way includes special emergency powers.  It is merely a commitment to already established goals from the Paris Accord.

It comes just a day in advance of the the decision on the Trans Mountain Pipeline (TMX).

The pipeline that never should have been expanded and most certainly never should have been purchased.

The move is likely nothing more than restatement designed to appease and the environmentalist lobby groups that are currently pressuring the Parliamentarians in the nations capital.

The major conflict will not be in Ottawa, but rather in western Canada, in the up coming elections.
